Auto Focus Zoom xi Lens System

The 'xi" designated zoom lenses offer additional features. These features are of differing value depending on your level of photographic interest, ability and desires.

A significant feature of the xi-Series is a built in motor and 8 bit micro computer. The normal Minolta lenses have only a ROM-IC which offers permanent storage only. The benefits of this micro computer is in the gathering and transmission of data, whilst the motor in the lens enables power zooming by turning of the control ring.

Another feature is is Image Size Lock, which enables the user to set a desired framing and the focal length is automatically adjusted with subject movement to maintain the pre-set image size.
